Dr Halla Iqbal Kiyan is a dentist and an aspiring public health professional. Her recent contribution has been vital to assess the mental health and other aspects of postpartum studies (post pregnancy experiences) within Northern Ireland society. Dr Kiyan successfully analysed qualitative data from a pilot randomised controlled trial exploring the mediators and moderators of postpartum weight loss under the supervision of Professor Michelle McKinley at Centre for Public Health, Queen's University Belfast. Her research has examined the connections between behaviour modification strategies using self-monitoring, self-regulation, self-esteem, motivation etc. and the outcome of a Belfast-based text messaging post-partum weight management intervention led by Professor Michelle McKinley.
